If you are trying to communicate via BACnet/IP through a NAT router (IP router with a firewall enabled), the BASrouterLX can assist in this communication. You can utilize the settings on this page to allow this communication to occur, otherwise you can leave the Secondary UDP Port and Secondary Network at 0 and Public IP Address at 0.0.0.0 and ignore the rest of this help.
If there are no other BACnet/IP devices on the same subnet as the BASrouterLX then you can leave the Secondary UDP Port at 0 and the Secondary Network at 0. You must, however, set the Public IP Address to the public IP address of the NAT router the BASrouterLX will communicate through.
If there are other BACnet/IP devices on the same subnet as the BASrouterLX then you will need to set a secondary port and a secondary network number. The secondary port, for example BAC1, will be used by all local BACnet/IP devices. This is also known as 47809. The secondary network number will need to be different than any other network number used in the system. Also set the BASrouterLX public IP address value to the public IP address of the NAT router the BASrouterLX will communicate through.
You must also modify the settings of your NAT router. You must port forward one UDP port to the IP address of the BASrouterLX. Use the BACnet/IP UDP port 1 value specified in the BASrouterLX System webpage.
