Thank you for your continued partnership and the trust you place in Contemporary Controls.

Since 2019, Contemporary Controls has felt the impact from the U.S. tariffs imposed on imported components. We have long managed these costs internally or shared them across our supply chain to help shield our customers from rising costs. The recent introduction of additional tariffs and continued global trade uncertainty forces us to be faced with significant and compounding cost pressures throughout our international supply chain.

It is important to understand that while majority of our products are proudly manufactured in the United States, this designation does not exempt us from tariffs. Many critical components, including passive and active electronics sourced worldwide, remain subject to these charges. These tariffs function as direct taxes on our business, increasing the cost of goods sold (COGS). The recent expansion of tariff scope has made it increasingly difficult for us to continue to absorb these costs without impacting the price of our product.

Therefore, after a thorough evaluation, we must implement a price increase of 6.7%, effective May 5, 2025, to offset these increased costs.

Our commitment to U.S. manufacturing remains steadfast. At our Downers Grove, Illinois facility, we operate a state-of-the-art surface mount technology (SMT) line where blank printed circuit boards (PCBs) are solder-pasted, populated with both active and passive components, and reflowed in a temperature-controlled oven to form printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs). These assemblies undergo rigorous testing before being integrated into enclosures and packaged as finished devices. This comprehensive, value-added process constitutes substantial transformation, allowing us to justifiably claim the United States as the Country of Origin (CoO). These products comply with USMCA rules of origin.

We understand that price increases are never easy, and we have not taken this step lightly. Please know that we remain committed to providing you with the highest-quality products, manufactured with care, and delivered on time at competitive market prices.
