February 2014 - Contemporary Controls Ltd., along with Warwick Control Technologies and Port GmbH, are hosting a Controller Area Network and Industrial Ethernet training day on Wednesday, March 26 at the Heritage Motor Centre, 9 AM - 5 PM. The training event highlights best practices for using Controller Area Network (CAN) and Industrial Ethernet in automation applications.
Automation networks must be safe, easy to deploy, easy to troubleshoot, operate in real-time, and support industry standards. Both CAN and Industrial Ethernet offer unique advantages and attendees will learn the basics of these technologies - including cabling and topology options, the protocols used to ensure interoperability, and the equipment required to both extend and diagnose networks. Issues with real-time networks will be discussed, protocol options will be compared, and protocol stack implementation will be explained. Active tabletop displays will accompany the presentations. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn by interacting with the experts.
