As part of our continuing commitment to HVAC education, Contemporary Controls participated in the College of DuPage HVACR Network Day on June 15. The event was a chance for the newest members of the industry to see building automation products and talk to the engineers that design them. It also provided faculty members with the opportunity to hear about the latest innovations in the field.
The HVACR program at College of DuPage already uses our BAScontrollers and Sedona Application Editor for training purposes, so the students and staff were familiar with our products. Even better, many of the students understood why we are so passionate about creating an open controller and understood the limitations of using a controller that is run on a proprietary programming language that requires a restricted (and often expensive) programming tool. With no help from us, professors and students came up with a refrigeration application using Sedona.
Using the BAScontrol22 unitary controller and the free Sedona Application Editor (SAE) in the classroom allows professors to simulate the set-up, programming and maintenance of a unitary controller. Contemporary Controls provides training materials for using the controller in a classroom.
Using our BAScontrol22 coupled with free applications like our SAE and our Sedona Emulator, students get real-world experience in building automation.
