Video: Understanding the Different Types of Remote Access

A virtual private network (VPN) enables simplified, secure remote access, but there are different ways to implement the service. Contemporary Controls offers three VPN solutions to meet your remote access needs—our RemoteVPN subscription service, and our Self-HostedVPN and BridgeVPN solutions. We have several videos that explain the different features, capabilities and limitations of each VPN solution.

A VPN can provide secure access to remote job sites while giving systems integrators the flexibility to monitor and maintain systems from the convenience of their home or office. Our RemoteVPN subscription service provides secure communication and the convenience of remote access without having to maintain the VPN server. Hosted on the Internet and maintained by a subscription provider, RemoteVPN incorporates a cloud-based server with clients for workstations and mobile devices and routers installed at job sites.

For more information about the RemoteVPN service, watch Remote Access (VPN) Secure Remote Communication.

In addition to the RemoteVPN subscription service, Contemporary Controls offers Self-HostedVPN and BridgeVPN solutions which allow users to set up and maintain their own secure remote access without subscription fees and without the need for a cloud-based VPN server.

To better understand the differences between the three options, watch Understanding Remote Access VPN Options (Overview).

For a more detailed understanding of the three options, watch Understanding Remote Access VPN Options (Webinar).

As always, if you have questions about any of our VPN solutions, our technical support team at ccsitech@ccontrols.com is happy to assist you.
