10BASE-T1L (T1L) SPE Media Converter Featured in AHR New Product Presentation

If you are going to the AHR Expo, be sure to attend our new product presentation, "Supercharge Your Cabling" on Wednesday, February 4 at 11:45 a.m. in Theater C.

Bennet Levine, Contemporary Controls' Director of R&D, will explain 10BASE-T1L (T1L) Ethernet which is a new standard (IEEE 802.3cg) that enables long-distance IP communication over single-pair cable. His presentation covers key features of T1L, including 10 Mbps full-duplex transmission up to 1 km, and single twisted-pair cabling. Levine will also highlight the energy management and control applications for HVAC, lighting, security, and BMS. He will introduce Contemporary Controls' T1L SPE Media Converter, which provides a cost-effective and environmentally-friendly solution for bridging Ethernet and T1L networks.

The EIMK-T1L complies with IEEE 802.3cg to provide a versatile solution for connecting 10BASE-T1L and 10BASE-T networks in full-duplex Ethernet operation. EIMK-T1L supports 10 Mbps full-duplex transmission up to 1 km using a single twisted-pair cable to provide IP connectivity over long distances. It supports plug-n-play functionality via its default configuration.

EIMK-T1L is optimal for both new and retrofit applications because it combines the advantages of Ethernet with the flexibility and extended reach of fieldbus and serial networks. It can reuse existing cabling, allowing systems integrators to upgrade a BMS from legacy serial networks—such as BACnet MS/TP, LonWorks, or Modbus—to IP based networks without replacing existing wiring.

Be sure to visit us at Booth C843 in the in the Central Hall to learn more about the EIMK-T1L SPE media converter, our BASautomation line of BACnet-compliant products, including our BACnet routers, controllers, communicating thermostats, Modbus to BACnet gateway, and supervisory graphical interface. We'll also be demonstrating our networking and building automation solutions with built-in cybersecurity features.
